Scarborough Centre Station
Scarborough Centre is a rapid transit station and bus terminal in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, serving Line 3 Scarborough of the Toronto subway system and multiple bus routes of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). It is located north of Ellesmere Road between Brimley and McCowan Roads, just south of Highway 401. It is adjacent to the Scarborough Centre Bus Terminal, which is a station for GO Transit buses and other intercity coach services. In February 2021, the TTC recommended the closure of Line 3 in 2023 and its replacement by bus service until the completion of the Scarborough extension of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. After the closure of this station, a new Scarborough Centre station would be built along the planned Line 2 extension east of the existing station. History Scarborough Centre station was opened in 1985 along with the rest of Line 3. Scarborough Centre Bus Terminal
Scarborough Centre Bus Terminal is a regional and intercity bus terminal in Scarborough City Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located near its namesake rapid transit station on Line 3 Scarborough of the Toronto subway. It is served by GO Transit buses, Megabus (Coach Canada), TOK, and other private coach services. The terminal is near the Scarborough Town Centre shopping mall and the Scarborough Civic Centre. The original regional bus terminal opened in 1985 adjacent to the Line 3 station, but was relocated to a temporary on-street terminal on Borough Drive starting October 1, 2022. Line 3 is expected to close permanently in 2023 and be replaced with TTC buses until the Scarborough extension of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth opens for revenue service expected in 2030. The TTC required more space to handle replacement buses and required GO Transit and intercity buses to vacate the original terminal. Scarborough City Centre is a commercial district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was the central business district for the former city of Scarborough, which amalgamated with Toronto in 1998. Scarborough City Centre remains one of the central business districts outside Downtown Toronto. Scarborough Town Centre (STC) is a shopping mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Central to the Scarborough City Centre in the former city of Scarborough, it is adjacent to Scarborough Centre station, the Scarborough Centre Bus Terminal and the CTV Toronto studios (9 Channel Nine Court). Opened in 1973, the mall is the fourth largest shopping mall in Canada and third in Toronto by retail space.
